YOUTH JUSTICE NETWORK / Organization in the fight for racial justice

Youth Justice Network is an organization dedicated to advancing equity and reform across the juvenile justice system. As Design Director, I led the full creative engagement, defining the project scope, establishing the strategic direction, and overseeing every design decision from the first briefing to final delivery.

The organization needed a cohesive identity and digital presence that could credibly represent their mission to multiple audiences: young people navigating the justice system, institutional partners, advocates, and donors. The design had to communicate authority and approachability simultaneously, a difficult balance that required a clear strategic foundation before any visual work could begin.

My role was to craft the process that made that possible. I structured the engagement as a progressive definition project: starting from values and positioning, moving through brand architecture, and culminating in a UX and UI design for the website that unified the organization’s voice and presence across every touchpoint. I directed the visual language, made the key creative calls, and worked closely alongside the design team to bring the concept to execution.

The result was a brand that gave Youth Justice Network the credibility to operate at an institutional level while maintaining the warmth and accessibility their community-facing work demands, and a website that communicates both clearly.
